Getting Started

ok, here we go! Here's a few of the things I'll hopefully be covering over the coming weeks and months:
-the goblet class I recently took from Steve Sizelove
-the goblet class I'm hoping to take in 2 weeks
-my efforts to acquire and create some protective gear for myself
-setting up my home studio

and of course, the latest creations that the moms and I come up with!

About Us

Laura Arns has been making glass sculptures, beads, and other items for over 7 years. She has learned from some of the best, including Lucio Bubacco, Loren Stump, Steve Sizelove, Robert Mickelson, Steve Sherer, Tom and Sage Holland, and others. In "real life" she is a computer scientist working in computer graphics and virtual reality. Glass work is a great outlet for her more creative side. In her copious spare time she enjoys motorcycles, football and other sports, spending time with her husband and her cat, and music. She never met a hobby she didn't like.

Judy Nelson (Laura's mom) has been making handmade jewelry for over 6 years. She enjoys many creative activities including sewing, quilting, stained glass, and machine embroidery. She previously ran a sewing and alterations business and has made countless bridesmaid dresses and hemmed hundreds of band and choir students' dresses. Her free time is spent spoiling her adorable grandchildren. In her "previous life" she was a teacher - of physical education, swimming, piano, and much more.
